According to WebmsterWorld post Google Directory is updating with most recent ODP data on 18th August. This update includes all directory edits throught 07-08-2008. Right now following five datacenters have the new versions:

I think Google is now taking seriously its directory listing. It is also good for Google PR fobia peoples.

UPDATED on 23rd August:
Google Directory for public at http://directory.google.com has been updated.

On 11th August my site get listed in Dmoz directory in regional category. It is good to be listed in dmoz directory.

Update:
Now on 23rd September, 2007 site listing was moved to more specific category.

Ask.com has undergone drastic changes. This new re-launch name is Ask3D. According to Ask.com

3D stands for the three dimensions of searching - query expression, investigating results, and digging deeply into content. You used to have to visit three different pages or websites to see and search through each dimension. With Ask3D, you can now get everything you need on one page…in many cases above the fold.

New look of Ask.com is neat and clean with the pretty graphics, the ability to narrow searches.

Helpful Internet resources and search marketing resources sorted into categories such as web standards, CSS, typography, colour tools and stock photography.

Yahoo has come up with a web-based messenger. This should have been done long time back when Google started integrating Gtalk on the web in every means it would - Gtalk is integrated with Gmail, Google personalized home page as a gadget and finally you can add their gadget to any page that you might want.

Yesterday, Google has launched new version of Google Analytics. It will be migrate all existing accounts to the new Google Analytics interface over the next few weeks. Around a month both the original interface and the new interface will be available. Google will inform by email when its migrate.

New interface presents data more clearly details as well as easier use and comprehension of the reports and metrics within the data sets for layperson.

Google engineer, Vanessa Fox shares more information on anchor text. Google has replaced the individua anchor text words that we showed for your site in webmaster tools with a list of full anchor phrases. She also said:

we’ve enhanced the information we show you in the following ways:

• We’ve expanded the number of phrases we show to 200.
• You can now see the variations of each phrase (for instance, with different capitalization and punctuation).
• More sites now have access to the anchor phrase report. So, if you didn’t have this report before, you may have it now.
• We’ve brought back the report showing the most common individual words in anchor text (you asked; we delivered!).
• We’ve expanded the number of common words in anchor text and common words in your site that we show to 100 each.

They have also updated robots.txt analysis tool to correctly interpret the new Sitemap instruction that all three search engines announced support for last week.

Google is now available in eight new languages, which brings in nineteen total.
