Yesterday, Google has released a set of themes for Gmail users.

“Gmail fans have been building unofficial extensions to spice up their inboxes for a while, but up ’til now themes haven’t been an integral part of Gmail,” said Gmail engineer Annie Chen in a blog post. “We wanted to go beyond simple color customization, so out of the 30 odd themes we’re launching today, there’s a shiny theme with chrome styling, another one that turns your in-box into a retro notepad, nature themes that change scenery over time, weather driven themes that can rain on your mailbox, and fun characters to keep you in good company.”

For those of you that are lucky enough to be a part of the initial roll out you can customize your inbox by going to the Themes tab under Settings. Google has said they’ll be rolling out themes to everyone over the next couple of days, so if like me you don’t see them yet, check back soon.

Just last month, Google launched seven features for Gmail: Gmail Gadgets, emoticons for messages, Gmail for mobile version 2.0, Canned Responses, contact manager improvements, advanced IMAP controls, and Mail Goggles.

Last night, Google has live Google Chrome open source browser for public. The download of Google Chrome was very quick and easy. During installation it only offered to import bookmarks.

Frankly, Google Chrome load very quickly as compare to Firefox and Internet Explorer. The interface look is very clean and simplified and no status bar. It automatically generated page with tumbnails of your most frequently visited sites. But I’m also going to miss my Firefox extensions.

In above video Sergey Brin put his views on why Google’s launching a browser.

Flyerguy a memebr of Webmaster World has also confirmed in his post that German users are also redirecting to Yahoo!
According to Barry Schwartz this has to do with Yahoo Now Showing Geo-Location Under Search Ads. Yahoo has told him that they rolled out that feature last “week with the roll out of a new “geo labels” feature.” He feels that same geo-technology was applied to this.

But in India I am still reaching www.yahoo.com domain instead of http://in.yahoo.com but last few days it is showing two search options Search Web and Search India. That wasn’t before.

If you seach with any of the option, Yahoo shows &fp_ip=IN in its search result URL. In India, www.yahoo.com is not redirecting yet but search results are fetching from Indian IP addresses.
